Jak has been performing from a very young age and began his training at The Oldham Theatre Workshop where he was regularly cast in lead roles in the theatre workshop productions displaying early signs of being a ‘triple threat’ from a young age.

He started his professional career as a ‘Pontin’s bluecoat’ at the age of 17 in their production shows as the lead vocalist, going on to become show team leader and head vocalist travelling between centres, creating production and character shows across the UK.

Jak signed a contract at 19 to work as the lead male vocalist on various first class cruise liners. During this time he experienced several world cruises performing in the ships production shows and cabarets. Credits during this time included ‘Phantom’ in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, ‘King Herod’ in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Curly’ in ‘Oklahoma’ and ‘Marius’ in ‘Les Miserables’.
Shortly after leaving the cruise ships, he went to work in a Barbershop Quartet touring the UK, performing at various corporate events. He also worked at various venues as a dancer for such things as, a ‘Grease’ tribute, cabaret shows and various fundraising events in and around the UK. He has worked in the top tribute band to Take That performing in the role of Gary Barlow touring Europe and has even worked as a body double for Gary Barlow himself in the X factor adverts.

Dance credits include performing as a backing dancer for the ‘Steps’ sensation, Lisa Scott-Lee. Other artists include; Katherine Ellis, Amanda Wilson and ‘The Freemasons’. Acting credits include lead actor in the BBC drama ‘Eyam’, also a featured dancer in the BBC 80’s season, appearing in the drama ‘Worried about the boy amongst many others.

Jak teaches various styles of dance, vocals and drama in and around the North West of England to students of all ages. He choreographs for competitive teams at Freak Dance and for The England Dance Squad. Jak says, ‘watching the children grow at Freak Dance has been a pleasure and I can’t wait to see how they develop more in the future’.

At Freak Dance Jak currently teaches Street, Hip-hop, Commercial, Musical theatre to name but a few and teaches private one to one lessons in vocals and several styles of dance.
